Travel Diaries

 

The project Travel diaries. Educating to a world citizenship sharing at school migration experiences started on 17 September 2012 and it will be completed in June 2013.
The project is promoted by COP, with the operational participation of CICSENE, CIFA, CISV, DI-SVI, LVIA, MAIS and RETE, and co-financed by the Ministry of the Interior. 
Participants: the Province of Asti, the Province and the Municipality of Cuneo as institutional partners; the Province and the City of Turin, the City of Collegno, the City of Giaveno, the City of Nicholasville, the Municipality of Settimo Torinese, the City of Vinovo, the Province of Novara, the Province of Vercelli, the City of Pray (BI), the City of Bene Vagienna (CN) as associated partners. As well as CCM NGO, ENGIM NGO, Atlantide Research Center, Terre Solidali, Association Casa dei Popoli of Settimo Torinese.
The general objective of the project is to contribute to the strengthening of the processes of intercultural dialogue in schools by promoting the process of personal growth and social integration of young foreigners aged between 6 and 18 years in the provinces of Turin, Asti, Biella, Cuneo, Novara and Vercelli.
The specific objectives, which promote in a coherent and coordinated way the general objective, are three.
The first is to easier, starting from the theme of travel and migration, the understanding, by young students from 36 schools in the said Provinces (comprehensive schools and Directions Education, Middle Schools, High Schools and other higher education institutes), of migration and aspects related to interculturalism that emerge due to the presence in society, and therefore also in schools, of youth representatives of foreign communities.
The second is to strengthen, consolidate and integrate, in collaboration with the faculty, the ongoing courses on intercultural education with elements of global citizenship education (Global Learning and Global Citizenship Education as it is defined by the European Union) in the members schools.
The third is to contribute to the building of local actors networks that work in the field of youth leadership and in favor of the spread of an active citizenship culture, solidarity and acceptance towards individuals and communities abroad. 
The direct beneficiaries of the action are:

3 comprehensive schools, 2 middle schools, 10 high schools
In the Province of Asti:
2 middle schools, 3 high schools
In the Province of Biella:
1 Comprehensive School
In the Province of Cuneo:
1 Comprehensive School, 1 Middle School, 7 secondary schools
In the Province of Novara:
1 Comprehensive School, 1 Board of Education
In the Province of Vercelli:
4 comprehensive schools
